Head and brain injuries are very serious. Typically, they are the result of striking your head during an accident. In many situations, the person who has been injured doesn't even realize how badly they are hurt. They become confused, irritable and upset. The family doesn't understand these personality changes. What happens when this person can't go back to work? We all know what happens. The family gets worried about medical bills, how to bring income into the house, and the long-term effects of the injury. Your health and well-being are our priorities. Let's say your job is in Seattle or Bellevue, and you commute 30 minutes in rush hour traffic every day.  Does it normally stress you out?  Imagine what it's like with a headache every day.  Imagine getting to work and finding you can't concentrate. You need to take the time to get healthy. Let us worry about dealing with your insurance company. Let us take the burden of worry off you and your family.

Types of injury include car, truck, motorcycle, worksite injuries, closed-head injuries and brain injury.

THE DODSON BRAIN INJURY STORY, AS TOLD BY ARLYN DODSON:

In 2006, I was a regional manager for a national company. While in San Diego on a business trip I was rear-ended by a large commercial delivery truck. My physical injuries were severe, but the bang my head took in the accident produced permanent changes to my ability to communicate, relate to my wife and children, and do my job.  When I returned home to Seattle my wife immediately felt I was like a stranger - not the same man who left home a few days before. The symptoms are still with me, even to this day. I hope anyone who reads this, especially someone in a similar situation, understands that Ruth Moen and her staff have my utmost respect, and appreciation for they way they treated me and my family through the 3 years taking our legal action to court. Ruth's understanding, guidance, and encouragement made it possible for us to endure and get through. A lawsuit was the last thing we wanted to add to an already complicated time of our lives.

When I received my closed-head injury I knew I was hurt.   But I underestimated how badly.  I didn't even go to an emergency room immediately.  When I went to a San Diego emergency room the next day I was in severe pain and I told them so.  But they didn't ask me any questions that would have helped diagnose my brain injury.   When I returned to Seattle,  I experienced headaches and had a hard time thinking clearly. I was short-tempered with my wife and kids.   I couldn't get back into the swing of my job - managing and training people, dealing with clients. I had a six-figure income, built over a 12-year career, and within 2 years my earnings were only a tiny fraction of that.

I kept hoping that my injuries were going to heal. I believed that I would get better, and though I wasn't getting better, it was hard to accept. It was hard to find good professional help to begin to re-train my brain. I'd quickly gone from living a life with unlimited potential to not knowing how I was going to take care of my wife and kids.

I was referred to Ruth Moen and am so thankful for that. Ruth's complete dedication to her clients is unlike any I have experienced. She has a unique understanding and clear knowledge of these closed-head injuries. She understood what I and my family were experiencing. Even when I wasn't thinking clearly, she was. She and her staff are fighters for those who have no-one else to turn to. They help, no matter what setbacks happen. She saw a clear path to a fair resolution, even when we couldn't.

I know our success with the case and trial was directly related to Ruth's legal expertise, plus her down-to-earth common sense of humanity. I feel like I have found a life-long true friend. -- Arlyn and Tasha Dodson
